This committee is a great ice breaker for persons involved in outside sales no matter what product or industry. Ambassadors are the liaison between the Chamber and the membership. Ambassadors are responsible for all social networking events, like Business after Hours Networking. The committee meets 11:3-1:00pm- the second Tuesday of every month at 6565 West Loop South, Ste. 300.
This Council is responsible for developing relationships with International Chambers, Consults and other international groups in the Houston Metropolitan area to foster a greater understanding, open markets for exchange and create mutually beneficial opportunities. This council is tasked with creating greater reach for our members. The Council will also be the point of contact with the Convention Bureau and the Port of Houston Authority and develop relationships with entities that support companies coming to Houston to set up a business. The Council will facilitate introductions to Chamber members that want to do business in other countries as well. The committee meets monthly. The second Wednesday 10-11 at the Chamber office.
This committee is responsible for maintaining relationships with city, county, state and US elected officials. They will also maintain a relationship with the SBA and the City of Houston One Stop Business Shop. The committee is responsible for soliciting feedback from the membership to determine issues and concerns the membership has that need to be brought to the attention of elected officials. The committee designs, based on that feedback, a legislative agenda and meets in Austin with the Legislature when in session. Committee meets monthly. The Committee meets as needed.
Health and Prosperity
Senior Services Alliance Is organized to give members who market products and services to the 55+ population an opportunity to build a network of referrals. The committee meets monthly for a health-related presentation, networking and lunch. It meets the 1st Thursday of every month 11:30-1, location varies. Qiana James, Friendly Faces, Senior Care and M. Sandra Scurria, VIP MD, are co-chairs.
Generation Health Is organized to give all members who are interested in health-related topics affecting the general population, an opportunity to network, learn and build a network of referrals. The committee meets monthly for networking, lunch and a health-related presentation that include topics addressing physical, mental, spiritual, financial, and technology issues affecting persons in the workforce. The committee is charged with developing a culture of self-care for all members. The committee meets monthly at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital Admiral Room, 11:30-1pm, third Wednesday of every month.
Generation Tech is organized to provide members with tools to advance their knowledge and use of technology to improve their businesses and their lives. It committee meets to plan events and educational opportunities for the general membership and the community. The committee meets as needed.
This committee is focused on driving business to our members. This committee helps businesses by pointing them in the right direction and lining them up with chamber members for expertise. The committee works with the Ambassadors to understand the economic needs of the chamber members, and networks with the community to seek resources. The committee is focusing on the recovery from hurricane Harvey and the TXDOT Interchange project and the impact on member businesses.
This committee is dedicated to providing members with educational opportunities to develop their skills and knowledge base. The committee encourages partnerships between Houston Metropolitan Chamber and HISD, private and public schools and higher education and business. The committee meets as needed.
