10 May HMC SSA Judge Emmett Event
Established in 2013, the Senior Services Alliance was formed to create a trusted network of the healthcare providers within the Houston Metropolitan Chamber. Every month attendees enjoy networking, having lunch together and hearing a presentation on a health-related topic. The goal is to share information to help attendees become better, more informed, resources to the community; no matter their respected field or job in the healthcare industry. In December 2017, while celebrating a Holiday Lunch together, the committee chose Stroke Awareness and Prevention as their theme for 2018. They contacted Judge Emmett, a highly respected, public figure to share his story since he had experienced a stroke. The committee felt that Judge Emmett’s story could bring attention to the third leading cause of death in the US and the leading cause of disability.
Dr. Maniar will join in the conversation and share his own story. Dr. Maniar is a Cardiologist with Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. He will share his own story of regaining health after a shocking revelation that he was not as healthy as he thought. He will share small, yet significant steps attendees can take to remain robust and vital throughout their lives.
Abbey at Westminster Plaza will host the event on May 7, 2018 from 11-1pm at the Wellness Center on 2855 Westminster Plaza, 77082. HMC Members welcome guests from the community to this important event.
Tickets are $10 for Chamber Members and 20$ for Guests
