What it is.

The Chamber is a voluntary organization of businesses investing their time and money working together to collectively improve the economic, civic and well-being of the metropolitan area.


Any business interested in helping develop the area we all share is welcome to join the Houston Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. The work of the Chamber is financed by the investment of the business that support the all the efforts designed to make the metropolitan area a better place to live, work and raise families.


The Chamber is composed of member businesses who serve as volunteers on committees, the board of directors and as Ambassadors without pay.

How it functions

The Houston Metropolitan Chamber functions through action oriented working committees developed and managed by those who invest in the Chamber and the community. This dedicated involvement in turn creates greater visibility for the investing business and serves to further strengthen the member business as a community partner. Everyone wins!

What it does.

The Houston Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is a service organization. It is organized and incorporated as a non-profit 501(c) 6. The Chamber provides a platform through which members can take effective action for the progress of Houston.


The Chamber helps to create jobs through stimulation of industrial and commercial growth.


The Chamber campaigns for the improvement of community facilities, streets, highways, parks, schools and the citizens of the metropolitan area.


The Chamber partners with the City of Houston, Houston ISD, Metro, SBA, SCORE, and Texas Workforce Solutions to build a strong community.
